"U know what i mean" is the prompt you send to your collaborator of three years, not the model that loaded your repo five minutes ago.

It works between humans because both parties carry shared context: prior conversations, ongoing projects, the in-joke from last week. The model has none of that on a fresh session.

Persistent memory closes the gap. Files the model can read on every turn. A workspace it never leaves. Once the substrate is durable, shorthand stops being lazy and starts being precise.
