When "make it pop" lands
Vague aesthetic prompts get a bad rap, but they work fine when the context is rich enough.
If your model has seen your brand guide, your prior outputs, your color palette decisions, and your preferred typefaces - "make it pop" is a perfectly adequate instruction. The model fills the blanks from the context you already gave it.
Without that context, the model guesses. And its guess is whatever "pop" means in its training data - which is probably not what you mean.
The fix isn't a better prompt. It's a better context layer.
